The birth of a baby is a joyful event for families - and often leads on to thoughts of thanksgiving or of baptism. We are always delighted to be able to welcome children and adults into God's family, symbolised in the very special service of baptism. literally: immersed into When children are baptised, their parents and godparents also dedicate themselves to God.

For those not ready to affirm baptismal promises, a service of thanksgiving for the birth of a child gives a lovely opportunity for friends and family to celebrate the birth and ask for God’s help in the care of the child.

Weddings
A wedding is a very important and exciting event in the life of a couple, their families and the wider community. In a marriage service in church the couple publicly declare a covenant with each other before God and ask for His blessing as they seek to live out their married life together.

Couples wishing to arrange a marriage service in church are asked to contact the Vicar by phone to find out more – including the various legal issues that need to be considered, and how to plan all the many details effectively. Sometimes a Service of Prayer after Civil Marriage is an appropriate alternative.( 01273 552157
